FSI collects information on individuals for the purpose of providing the information to employers or landlords to help them make informed employment or rental decisions. The information is used by our employer clients to make decisions on who to hire, retain, promote, or re-assign. It may also be utilized to conduct employee investigations where an employer has a suspicion of workrelated misconduct or wrongdoing, or an issue arises as to employee compliance with Federal, State, or local laws and regulations, or any employer policies. 



When you provide information through our website or through our web ordering platform, we use it only for the business transaction for which it was collected. Based on the nature of your transaction with us, you may provide to us certain personal information such as first and last name; home address, or other physical address, an email address, a telephone number; a social security number, or certain other information, such as date of birth, employment information, schools you attended, professional licenses obtained, and other information as required to process your transaction collectively, (“PI”). In general, we will use the information collected from you for the purpose for which you provided such information. We will not release your PI to third parties except as necessary for us to complete your background check.

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard the PI you provide to us. Our products and/or services online are transmitted through Transport Layer Security (TLS). Further, we have security protocols and measure in place to protect the PI we maintain about you from unauthorized access or alteration. These measures include internal and external firewalls, physical security and technological security measures, and encryption of certain information (including login credentials). FSI will retain personal data we process on behalf of our Clients for as long as needed to provide services to our Client. FSI will retain and use this personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. 



We define children as individuals under the age of 16. The fairscreen.com website is not intended for the use of children and we do not intend to collect information about children through this website. 



FSI is a member of Concerned CRAs, a group of like-minded consumer reporting agencies who are opposed to the “offshoring” of sensitive personal information for processing purposes. However, personal information submitted to FSI for a background screening investigation may at times be transferred outside of the United States in order to perform background screening services specifically when FSI is attempting to verify your credentials or professional history during times you were in another country outside of the United States. All personal information will be transmitted and stored in a secure manner in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. 



FSI may transfer personal information to companies that help us provide our service. All such contractors are contractually obligated to use and maintain the confidentiality of personal information. Transfers to subsequent third parties are covered by the provisions in this Policy regarding notice and choice and the service agreements with our Clients. 



We collect information for our clients. If you are an applicant of one of our clients and would no longer like to be contacted by one of our clients that use our service, please contact the client that you interact with directly.



Our website includes links to other websites whose privacy practices are outside of our control and may differ from those of FSI.
